"Creating stronger commitments to EV charging station reliability & uptime is crucial to mass EV adoption."

— Kameale C. Terry, CEO, ChargerHelp!

Background

ChargerHelp! provides electric vehicle (EV) charging station services in cities across the United States. Emerging as a leader in operations, maintenance, and workforce development for the EV industry, ChargerHelp! built its platform around a technology-first approach, offering on-demand repairs and maintenance through an app-based dispatch and deployment system staffed by trained local workforces. The company experienced steady growth in its customer base as demand for reliable EV infrastructure accelerated.

As ChargerHelp! expanded, its service offering grew significantly more sophisticated. The company built out its EMPWR reliability software platform, launched its Reliability as a Service (RaaS) offering to give charging station owners and operators predictable uptime, and grew its workforce development programs. Despite that evolution, the company's brand, positioning, and website had not kept pace, leaving ChargerHelp! without a go-to-market strategy that fully communicated its expanding capabilities or differentiated its technology-first approach in an increasingly competitive market.

ChargerHelp! engaged C\R Strategy Partners to close that gap. Working with the company's leadership team, C\R conducted market research, refreshed the brand, developed a new growth strategy, and designed and built a new website; giving ChargerHelp! the positioning and digital presence it needed to communicate its mission, attract customers, and support its next stage of growth.

ChargerHelp! growth strategy for scaling EV charging infrastructure services

The Challenge

ChargerHelp! had outgrown its brand and its go-to-market approach. Getting it right meant working through four distinct challenges:

  1. Brand identity not reflecting company evolution: ChargerHelp! had grown from a field services company into a technology-first platform business, but its brand identity and messaging had not evolved with it. The company needed a visual identity and positioning that communicated where it was, not where it had been.

  2. Unclear differentiation in a competitive market: The EV charging services market was growing rapidly, and ChargerHelp! needed a sharply defined selling proposition that set it apart from competitors and was grounded in what customers actually valued and what ChargerHelp! could uniquely deliver.

  3. Website failing to communicate the full platform: The existing website did not clearly convey ChargerHelp!'s technology-first approach, its RaaS offering, or its workforce development model. Potential customers and investors couldn't quickly understand what made ChargerHelp! different or why it mattered.

  4. Growth strategy needed to support scale: ChargerHelp! needed a go-to-market and customer acquisition strategy aligned with its expanded platform that could support month-over-month growth and position the company to raise its Series A funding round.

Our Approach

C\R Strategy Partners applied its Aligned Innovation framework to develop a brand strategy and growth model for ChargerHelp! through four connected phases:

  1. Research – Conduct market research on the EV landscape and competitors, and run surveys and focus groups with current and potential customers to surface unmet needs and understand how ChargerHelp! is perceived in the market.

  2. Positioning – Develop a new brand and market strategy around ChargerHelp!'s unique selling proposition, including distinct positioning for the Reliability as a Service (RaaS) offering.

  3. Build – Refresh ChargerHelp!'s visual identity and design and build a modern, mobile-responsive website with clear service messaging, easy navigation, and customer stories that brought the company's workforce development mission to life.

  4. Launch – Launch the new brand, website, and go-to-market strategy, giving ChargerHelp! the tools to communicate its unique positioning to customers and investors and drive month-over-month revenue growth and customer traction.

Learning & Outcomes

The engagement reshaped how ChargerHelp! shows up in the market, giving it the positioning, the story, and the digital tools to compete and grow:

  • Refreshed brand identity: A modern visual identity aligned with ChargerHelp!'s technology-first positioning and expanded service offering, replacing a brand that had outgrown the company it represented.

  • Sharpened market positioning: A clearly defined unique selling proposition centered on personalized customer experiences and technology-driven reliability.

  • Reliability-as-a-Service launch: A clear brand and marketing strategy for ChargerHelp!'s RaaS offering gave the company a powerful product story for customers seeking predictable EV charging uptime.

  • New website: A mobile-responsive, modern website with clear service messaging, easy navigation, and customer stories that brought ChargerHelp!'s workforce development model and personalized approach to life for visitors.

  • Go-to-market strategy: A customer acquisition and growth strategy aligned with ChargerHelp!'s expanded platform—giving the company a structured path to communicate its value proposition and grow its customer base.
